Welcome to Surrey Counselling Service — SCS
Surrey Counselling Service is a professionally based service serving people living or temporarily resident in the County of Surrey and surrounding areas. We work closely with the NHS and other health related clinicians; the majority of clients are direct patient referrals from GPs and self-referring members of the public who require immediate therapeutic treatment and/or help with pressing life and relationship issues.
At SCS we offer a truly independent service, we are not subsidised or influenced by any charity, grant-aid sponsor or commercial organization. Our trained, experienced counsellors and psychotherapists provide a genuine independent, open ended, confidential service. SCS’s services are available to any adult or adolescent, regardless of gender, disability, marital status, ethnic origin, sexual persuasion, political or religious beliefs.
SCS was established as a community based service in 2004. We offer affordable one-to-one counselling, psychotherapeutic and life coaching services, group and couples work, bereavement counselling, time-limited therapy, and outreach programmes to private and public organizations. SCS provides a confidential service but in agreement with the Client we may work in conjunction with other health related professionals and clinicians involved in the management of the Client’s care.
Emotional wellbeing and mental health care is as important as taking care of your physical health. Our clinical service can offer help with emotional, traumatic life events and dilemmas, relationship and psychological problems that people are very often confronted with today. We can work with you to understand the nature of stress, and how to manage it with effective coping and life balancing strategies. Learning how to relax, using breathing, visualisation, and guided imagery techniques can assist as natural antidotes to stress in 21st century living.
