The Surrey Counselling Service Practice
SCS was established in 2004 as an independent private practice by Registered Psychotherapist Maurice Jenkinson. SCS does not receive donations, grants or subsidies.
We pride ourselves as being able to offer an affordable service, managed on an ethical, altruistic basis, to any adult or adolescent who needs therapeutic counselling, psychotherapy or life coaching help.
It is our philosophy to offer Clients a high standard of professional and friendly service.
Our philosophy and objectives at SCS may be summarised as encompassing the following:
- To provide an altruistic, caring, supportive therapeutic service that is available to people in the County of Surrey and surrounding areas who acknowledge they need help and assistance in the art of living.
- The SCS practice of counselling and psychotherapy is for the alleviation of Client suffering and the promotion of their well-being. The Client’s interests and beneficence are paramount.
- SCS therapists are to apply their skills and abilities to the advantage of their Clients without prejudice and favouritism on any basis.
- The SCS service is to be both affordable and professionally managed offering a means of encouraging independence and self-development in individuals who desire to deal with life and existential issues.
- SCS will endeavour to ensure a safe and secure environment that enables Clients to explore their issues and concerns and an environment that fosters learning and encourages SCS Practitioner counsellors and psychotherapists to continue to develop their clinical practice skills in the pursuit of excellence.
- SCS will assist those individuals for whom counselling and psychotherapy is inappropriate or who are searching for some kind of other help.
- SCS will liaise and co-operate with primary care trusts, other statutory authorities and/or voluntary services and institutions involved with the Client’s care.
